Reckon they will look great together

Cheers Kev, things are a bit hectic here with getting used to the new school run routine. Then putting everything together for No2 son going to uni for his masters in Belgium this weekend, on top of that No1 son and his wife are moving onto a new flat. So bench time is hard to come by at the mo!

Cheers Simon

Sculpting is your forté,Simon.
Really impressive work. The trousers - covering those neat little buns - are masterful.

LOL, I doubt I'll use Academy Figures like this again, the Legionnaire especially is a bit on the beefy side. It has been interesting though, instead of have to measure, guess and re measure where knees and waists are.

I'll have to do a compare on the difference between the first figure I made this way and my latest, see if anything has improved or otherwise!

Cheers Simon

the trouble with using academy figures is that they are realistically proportioned when naked, but the thickness of the 'clothes' we apply with magicsculpt or whatever is WAY over scale.
you would probably be better off using a 1/35 figure , making him taller and using a 1-30 head and hands.
just a thought

Very true about academy figures, I have kept the thickness to a minimum, or at least tried too, better on the legs than the torso. I was curious as to how it would turn out to be honest, I certainly could have done with lessening the waist at least. That said I would to make my figures have the roundness and bulk of metal Models figures, but then if I could sculpt like Bruno Liebowitz (not sure I spelt that right), I would be a very happy man.

I shall try and find time to post something tomorrow, if I get chance to sit at my desk.

Cheers Simon

OK last update before I head off the the wilds of continental Europe.

The Spanish officer has had his facial hair added and short of a bit of a clean up his hand in his pocket and left arm done.

The Legionnaire is at the same level though he needs a moustache to be added yet.

You may note they are both wearing skull caps, this is the first stage in making the sun helmets, well the way I do it it is.

Already here, full of cold both me and my wife, moving the youngest into his digs for Uni. Not going to get the chance to pop over to Brussels mores the pity so I'll try and concentrate on the bier.
