For my part, I am a little reserved!
The discussion is open

Nice magazine with lots of pretty pictures but unless you can read French it's all a bit of a waste. If it was published in other languages it would sell a lot more copies although I do understand the propper translation and printing is quite expensive.

Perhaps one day the French specialized magazine editors will understand that the sales and subscriptions would be superior with an English version, even a Spanish one!

I already voiced my impression of this revamped Figurines magazine and I'm more than a little reserved. As for the chance of seeing it published in another language, that seems very slim indeed. French publishers apparently prefer big expensive volumes on uniforms instead of the more affordable Osprey-style approach. Contrary to Germany's Heere & Waffen series or Spain's "Guerreros Y Batallas" they missed the boat on that style of publications! Nothing at all against the French and the French language but I'm afraid without a change of attitude they might miss other boats too!
Allez bonne chance les amis!

I don't think so. It is for years that many people said that an English version will do better
But they are strict in their policy. Keep it in French and the minor sales doesn't matter.

I subscribe to the magazine for many years and I am glad it operational again. But, as a first impression, it seems to me that there is a bit 'too much "fantasy" ....

I have personally contributed to this new issue and think we have to give the editor a chance. Agree with most of you that an English or bilingual edition would attract more audience and the editor should perhaps also think digital. For the lucky ones attending Sevres show tomorrow, editor-in-chief Émilien "ElDiablo" Pépin will be present.

For me it is a completely emotional thing. It is the oldest magazine I know and although my French is non existent,I have learned a lot through its pages and I have admired and got inspired by its subjects. It was a sad day for me when I heard that it is probably going to stop getting published. For starters it is great to see it making a comeback.I will give it a chance.

Oda.

Hi to all
Why do readers around the world always have to adapt to English? Why do not readers adapt to other languages ??
I know that it has been established that English is the second language in many countries ... but it is not the only ... see the Portuguese language, the 4th most spoken in the world!!!
Adapt my friends, adapt !!!!

Hi,
I fully agree with you. Figure International was avalaible in many languages but they collapsed. The only thing could be a short translation under pictures and I think they could keep the price.

I am glad to see that Figurines is back. I had just renewed my subscription before their demise, so here is hoping that they honor the old subscribers.

They do. I received my copy last week.

Cheers

Huw
