Here are a couple of shots of Gen Patton (1/16 Coree kit) and his dog Willie. Still need to finish leather items and glue on his arms, plus add shadows to WIllie. Camare flash caused shininess. comments welcome

Rob -

I like this kit alot so it's great to see in process shots.

On your next round of pics, try to avoid the flash. :)

Unfortunately I took them in the basement, so it was kind of dark. When done, I will try to get some outside in natural lighting. Thanks for nice remarks everyone.

Excellent! If I may critique just a little bit...

Patton at this point in his life would have been - late 50s, early 60s (?). Really I'm not sure about exact age, but probably somewhere in there. Anyway, in my opinion the flesh of his face looks too pink and youthful. Also, not enough sunburnt. He was spending a lot of time out of doors and would have had at least a medium tan as a result.

all the best,
Dan

Thanks for the input Dan. Actually I think it is the lighting that makes it look pinkish. When I posted an early photo of his head (last year actually-shows how slow i am) it looked different. See below.

Rob-

For whatever it's worth...

If you can photo under the same lighting conditions that you painted the figure, the pics will be close to what you intended.

I just did a Google search of "General+Patton+color+pictures" and got 10 pages of hits. No idea how many actually have realistic color pictures of Patton. I only looked at this one - http://www.pattonhq.com/societypx.html. It had 2 in color and 1 looked usable. Again, I'm just trying to be helpful, here. Feel free to press on and leave the face as is. 95% of the advice I've been given on this forum has been superb and I've followed it slavishly, but 5% I disagreed with and didn't follow. :)
all the best,
Dan

Hey Rob, nice work on Patton, he looks good. But "WOW" you really nailed Willy. He looks like he's ready to be taken out for a walk...lol. Really nice work. (y) (y)

Thanks for the comments King Tiger.

Thanks for link of Patton Photos. I checked them out. As I'm sure you noticed, the various color photos/prints all showed different skin colors. I appreciate your input to my project.
