Painted his face in Artist's oils this morning, hair colour blocked in using acrylics and added some colour to his collar.

His eyes are both OK, it's just the light coming from the window that makes him look odd.

Citadel Earth wash over the lacing and waist sash, then when dry used docraft Pearl medium mixed with the Vallejo Gold Brown, that I used for the base colour, and "dry-brushed" lightly to give the gold metal like look.

That enough for the old eyes for today and my tummy is say "where is my lunch" so more over the weekend.

Breeches lacing painting started with base colour and another thin coat of the blue main colour.

will give the lacing a Gold Brown/ Pearl medium mix next and use the same mix on the right arm which I have been painting at the same time but not taken any pics, then the arm can be attached to the body.

Thank you Barrie, I'm pleased I've given you some encouragement to start yours, it took a bit of time to work out the steps to paint him in but I think leaving his legs last was right at this stage.
I drilled one of his feet and glued in a 1mm length of brass rod and glued the other end into an old sawn off brush handle so I could hold him better and transfer him to a block of wood with holes in when needed.
I have done more today but the light is naff for piccies, will post tomorrow, with pic of the holder for you.
I have his Shako painted and fixed to his head also the right arm attached, I will have a look at the other models now to see who to get next.

Thanks again Geoff

Progress pics, arm and Shako attached, more Gold Brown/ pearl medium mix applied to breeches lacing plus touching up with the dark blue, pig of a job but worth it.

The holding aid I made using an old cutoff brush handle and some 1mm brass rod. End of brush handle drilled and foot of figure drilled up though ankle and rod CA'd both ends. Brush handle then locates into drilled fairly thick wooden block between paint changes and drying sessions, etc. (Hope this helps explain the holder Barrie)

Hopefully more will be done today.
