No need to apologise. I think we just have different standards on the necessary level of accuracy in such a piece. What you see as a major issue I see as a relatively immaterial issue. We just have two different points of view. But I think the Hollywood comment is a little bit strong as its only one minor detail.

Maybe so but aren't we getting to IPMS-like critiques when we start discussing the cut of cover? How often do the seams of other aspects of uniform get micrroscoped? Its a very nice bust and very evocative of Stalingrad.

Colin
Well put, but Konstantin does have a pont about the helmet cover and getting what you paid for (albeit a very minor one n my book).

Is it not possible he just needed to replace his helmet/cover and picked up the nearest one to hand ? As I recall there wasn't exactly a vast amount of re supply at Stalingrad, you know the whole being encircled thing an all ? :sneaky:

Of that I have no idea I seem to remember reading that they were but I am not sure, not my period or my thing TBH

As some of you may be aware igor sculpted this for me.

I noticed early on that the helmet cover was wrong as the SS were not involved in the stalingrad debacle. Stalingrad is famously remembered as the death of the 6th army. Not SS, they were sent in after the battle was lost to bolster the area but never reached the objective of trying to save the 6th army.

The bust has been changed slightly and no longer has the helmet pictured. When released it will come with 2 heads so you can choose which you preffer.

Hopefully i will have a few with me at euro but time is running out. When released he will come out in my exclusive series

Many thanks

Stuart

good idea

i have learnt from this though i never realized there was a difference in the cut of the cover's between the two forces you learn everyday

Stuart,

Brilliant!!!

I would have just changed the name. But as always you have taken one step beyond better.

Thanks
Todd

Simon and Todd, cheers.

He looks really mean now, the helmet with the SS cover on it was that good I am gonna use it on something else.

Thanks for all the replies about this piece

Stuart

Stu, this is a defo purchase on release for me, can you add me to your reminder list when I is ready. As for the helmet cover, I'm one for not caring to much for 100% accuracy its a stunning bust regardless!
