Cracking paint job and I can't fault it at all, if it was mine though I might put a little more wear and tear or fading on the webbing, especially the pouches. Otherwise it's ace.

Briggs’s, thanks for that. I get what you’re saying but not really sure how to implement. Any suggestions or tips?Cracking paint job and I can't fault it at all, if it was mine though I might put a little more wear and tear or fading on the webbing, especially the pouches. Otherwise it's ace.

Nap makes a good point as it is box art, however! Using the base colour but lightened either with white or better a flesh or beige you can very delicately glaze it onto seams and fastenings. A little like dry brushing but not as arbitrary, it needs to be kept quite tight. Then dark line, not black, the seams and undercuts slightly to make it pop a little more.Briggs’s, thanks for that. Much appreciated

Briggsy - so just ramping up the contrast a bit? I don’t see that it would compromise the box art, just make it a little more interesting.
Thanks

Many thanks Ski! I really am pretty happy with him even though I’m already thinking about what I’ll do better on the bustExcellent camo pattern work, Kempie. He's lookin great!
You can get a texture paste from Jo Sonja , but I think the best is to have a look at the work of Mike “The Kiwi”Butler ... he’s a master of effects using paint ....Folks, in advance of doing the bust of this figure I thought one way I could take advantage of the greater size is adding texture type effects to the webbing and different materials. Are there any threads on the site that run through this process clearly enough that a turnip like me might be able to pick it up?

Many thanks Nap, I actually bought Mike’s book but it quickly escalated past my understanding. Appreciate anything you can find. You can get a texture paste from Jo Sonja , but I think the best is to have a look at the work of Mike “The Kiwi”Butler ... he’s a master of effects using paint ....
