Stripped and repainted this 75mm Grenadier Guard, by David Greive. The painting's nothing special, but there you go.

Thanks for the comments, I think I'll lose the weeds. I don't think that the Guards are big on gardening. It's a very old figure, late 80s I think.

Great painting, great figure/sculptor and great regiment Carl! This is going to put me in the Box of Shame (has everyone seen the movie?) but I have to confess that I have little idea when and no idea where this uniform was worn. The pouch looks like an Mark II, 1890, consistent with having his stripes on the right arm only, though the guards were always confused about their NCOs' rank insignia compared with the rest of the army. There is a pic in the Osprey book dated 1923 and showing all the current forms of dress and this white jacket is not influded, so I imagine that he is on guard duty between 1890 and 1914, but I have no idea where a "tropical" jacket like this was worn, surely not in Egypt? Please don't make me too far wrong!

Phil, from what I can remember, I think it was sold as early 20th century. As for the summer jacket, your guess is as good as mine.

Cool, this figure 'has' something!
Very good sculpt, no matter if it is well-aged.
Neat and clean painting Carl. I guess this jacket would be very clean, so not too much contrast and weathering required.

I think the weeds look OK; add a bit of interest.

Well you hit the nail on the head, anyway, Carl! I Googled <grenadier guard summer uniform> and got just one good hit, even though it's for the Coldstrams. So there you have it: #3 dress, 1914. If you feel like celebrating, you might want to start right away. I'm a drink ahead of you. Cheers!

Fosten and there's a colourplate of a Grenadier guard in the same uniform 1914 . It states " In drill order, NCOs and junior ranks wore white serge shell jackets with brass buttons and white twisted shoulder cords."
