Joe,

Now you are becoming a master in red and blue to.. It is not only white that you can paint.
What an amazing painting, and that in acrylic for the first time.

Great work JOE, and keep the picture's coming.

Thanks you guys for the kind words. I hope that I can finish this guy soon because I have another one that I am really waiting to paint, it is red and white. Marc, we will see if I can pull it off or not and thanks for the encouraging words.

Hi Joe

You going fast with this figure. It looks outstanding. Are you staying now
with painting with acrylics in flesh.
The snow makes it complet with the red and blue.
How did you done the gold and silver, also with acrylics. I orderd now Americana acrylic paint from decoart is is realy perfect stuff.
I going to use (try) a different technique with painting with this paint. This paint
is easy to blend instantly. I think like oil-paint is blended. I must say that I never try it with oils.
Larrisa Tamberg have (going to have more lessons) teach me how to do it. Have you experience with painting with this paint of decoart.
Maybe it is something for orther acrylic or oil-painters. It goes very fast with this technique and it looks outstanding.
Apologize for my Micky Mouse English. :(

Keep on going Joe with the good painting.
See you later
Greetings from Holland

Dick and Ernesto,

Thanks for the kind words. I will try to get a few more pictures up in the next day or so.

Dick,

Your English is just fine! ;) You just keep at it and we will understand each other with no problems. I tried the Deco Art on the Spike bust and it seemed to work ok. I used it thru an airbrush and did not use any hand brushing with it but will have to give it a try. Let me know how it goes.

The gold was an acrylic burnt umber base coat and then I used Burnt Umber oil + Humbrol glossy black and gold printers ink. I kept it really on the dark side. I then went back in a did some shading with the burnt umber oil. The highlights were a base mix with just a bit more gold to brighten it. When it was all dry I used a very thin glaze of Tamyia Clear Yellow. This kinda of deepened the shadow areas.

Hey Ernest,

Thanks for the kind words and I look forward to see what you come up with next.

Here are a few pictures of the figure and the groundwork. I am about ready to wrap the figure up, need to finish up the boots, bearskin, metals and sword.
