I am painiting a fantasy figure in oils and would like the skin tone to be not vibrant a sort of grey but still being flesh colour. Hope this makes sense. Any suggestions?I was thiking of adding a bit of blue or green.

try adding just a touch of Paynes Gray to the mix. It is a very "blue" gray and should tone it down nicely. Careful how much you mix however. It can tend to be a bit overwhelming and hard to "overcome" when too much is used. Good luck,
