Anyway I have started to build paint from the hoofs up. Black and burnt umber mix with black dominate at the lower leg with the reddish brown taking over.

Slight departure from my norm as I have added a little oil in the paint, however not over keen. I will continue using oleopasto instead which should give it a sheen but not to much. Comments welcome... Good or bad.

I have only painted a horse head so this is interesting to see the way the colour is going ...it certainly starting to look like the reference Did you pin that leg ? Not heard of oleopasto ...is it a satin ? Look forward to more Happy benchtime Nap
