Thanks for that, it's a case of diving in at the deep end to make me get more comfortable with the nags. Big Dogs, love that, I am getting happier with them so a good challenge seemed like a good idea, might change my mind on that though!

Better late than never as my mother used to tell me, never did work out why!

I have been doing little bits and will update after Bugle Call, but it's going to take a while to do the whole lot. I am also going to try and make each one as different as possible, a General, a Trooper and a Trumpeter so it should be a fairly easy task.

Hi Stephen, yes built from the packet Historex horses are rather skinny especially when trying to depict war horses. I add a piece of platicard to one half trimmed to size to add that little bit extra, it seems to do the trick, can't remember the exact gauge of the card but about a millimeter or so seems about right. Would love to see the WWI figure.

Hi Simon, cuirassier turned out quite well considering it was my first attempt at a Historex figure. I also built a German uhlan to accompany it (horse looks OK for a light cavalryman). I would post photos if I understood the technology (I am very old school that way and don't even own a mobile phone!).

Hi Stephen, I hear you on the phone issue, I was happy with my old flip phone and no credit on the account but the family, well the females, insisted I have one. Now they complain when I use it, though I am careful to keep the volume turned off so I never know when it rings, that suits me fine and exasperates them!!! Modern technology is scary.

Unfortunately it all became too difficult and I couldn't get there, especially not with the wheelchair, maybe next time.

I definitely want to get there, we like Leuven a lot and will probably visit even after the youngest has finished his masters, so there is plenty of opportunity.

I have been busy with my General of Cuirassiers, I wasn't happy with how he sat on his saddle so out came the saw. I separated the legs from the torso, then cut through between them, once he was all back in one piece he sat the saddle better with only a little extra Magicsculpt.

The helmet is a Guard Dragoon Minerva helmet, often used by dandy Cuirassier Officers. The rear peak was removed as was the comb on top. The leopard skin turban wasn't used by these dandy officers so the area was built up with liquid sprue to recieve detailing with the pyrogravure later on. The comb was replaced with one taken from a Cuirassier helmet with the fixing plate replaced with Magicsculpt.

OK so I haven't learnt how to.insert pictures between text on the new and upgraded PF, technology ain't my strong suite.

Anyway, given that he is a general his cuirasse is more ornate than a Regimental officers would be so I have added some Magicsculpt around the edges and tried to make it look like laurel leaves. There is still a lot of detailing to add to it so that will be my next task.
