I am painting a figure that is sculpted as a 92nd Gordon Highlander from 1815. Aside from the tartan and facing colors, are the uniforms just like any other highlander regiment such as the 42nd?

Paul, I think there may be a difference in the spacing and shape of the lace and buttons. I will check and get back to you.

After a quick look,
42nd regt. wore bastion lace with buttons spaced singularly,
the 79th regt. wore square ended lace with buttons in pairs,
92nd regt. square with buttons in pairs.
So your 79th Gordon Highlander will paint up as a 92nd Cameron Highlander but not a Royal (Black watch) Highlander.
