I don't think I have any good figure bases in my stock at the moment. My theory is spend the money on cool figures and paint, buy a base when you get there. But one time I got an awesome diorama base from the dumpster we shared with Staples at work. They throw out some cool stuff some times, and there was part of a book shelf, I said that would a cool base and put it in my car. My friends thought I was a loser.

I have not really counted, but I probably have 75 - 100 bases of all kinds. About half are Thomas', and the rest a mixture of random items found here and there. I like to find unusual bases that might fit a theme I'm working on. When I find 'em I buy 'em. I've never been one of these guys that can shop for a base for a particular figure.

I very rarely buy bases in advance. I usually buy a base while i'm working on a figure, so i can use it when the work is done. I have a few bases from Elisena that i bought but that's all.

I've got many more than I thought, about 50-60 wooden ones, some homemade but most bought. I also have a half-dozen or so stone bases.

I'm not familiar with Oakwood. What was it about their bases that differentiated them from all the others?
Great selection, okay quality and an okay price, but the market over here didn't have much in the way of competition - if you're used to the quality Thomas Art or S&T your expectations of quality would be a set a lot higher, except for turned ones I nearly always have to refinish bases bought in the UK.
