Well here's something many of us would not see.
My daughter is travelling home the 'long way round' after a year teaching in Taiwan.

At the moment she is travelling westwards on the Trans Siberian Express to Moscow.

A few days ago, in Mongolia she sent a batch of photos icluding this of the statue to the man
we call Ghengis Khan.

Good Lord, that's some statue, judging by the folk at the base:eek: How was it constructed ? What's it made from? I don't think we've got enough paint between us to attempt that:LOL: Or big brushes.

Your guess is as good as mine old chum. but he has a gold whip to signifu wisdom and wealth...so there :)

The statue is 40 metres [130 ft] high. Situated 54 km east[?] of Ulan Bator. Legend has it that he found a gold whip here. Built on top of a visitor centre, itself 10 metres high. Its built of stainless steel!

Today in Italy celebrates the day of liberation from Nazi-fascism ... the end of the war will take place on May 2 after the signing of the surrender in Caserta on 29 April 1945.

April 25, 1945 is the day when the National Liberation National Liberation Committee (CLNAI), whose headquarters were headquartered in Milan, proclaimed the uprising in all the territories still occupied by the Nazi-fascists, pointing to all the active partisan forces attacking The Fascist and German leaders, imposing the yield, days before the arrival of allied troops.

On this day I want to contribute to the discussion by remembering Jenni Peyronel Cardon's last fallen partisan of my Valley

Jenny was a partisan relay (Order port) , holding orders for the G.L. Pellice Valley, fell to Torre Pellice during one of the last reprisals of the retreating Fascists.

Jenny was young: he was just 28 years old when he was 26 April 1945, shielding himself as a human shield to defend his other companions, once again giving his valuable contribution to the liberation of the valley from fascist occupation.

The next day, April 27, the high Pellice Valley was free.
And like Jenny, many did not return from the mountains, from Resistance.

Without promise and if time keeps today I try to make some photos of the monuments of my little town

Cool.
This triggers Some thoughts:
- Should be easy to do a proper catchlight without optivisor
- I hope it's pinned well...although it will probably not be picked up often.
- What a great place to host a figure contest.... how about Asia Militaire?

It looks to be how I thought, majestic sweeping vistas,
very hot wild and with a rugged desolate beauty?
