Nice light sculpting with the shade and highlights on the canteen strap. I can see the photo is lighter than before but still love the soft texture of the paint on those trousers.

Whilst I'm very happy so far with how it's going, I can't take decent photos to save my life and these don't show half of what it actually looks like.
There will be some highlights of the hair, but it doesn't need a great deal - you'll have to take my word for it, unfortunately.

Second shading turned out to be "third" shading. I mixed too dark a shade of blue, but had my head down to such an extent that I didn't notice until almost done.
Oh well, it has lead guitar and drums, but no bass.
In this instance, the phone camera is flattering.

In the photo it looks ace, being tone deaf as I am the bass is wasted on me, any fix in mind or you going to live with it?

I checked other sky blue and horizon blue finished projects: there is still much to do in terms of darker shading.
So, all good and it's forward-march for Billy Yank.

Oh good at least it wasn't all for nothing, anyway he's looking too good to start again, so yeah he can march ahead to whatever his unit marched into!

I used a darker shade of sky blue for the NCO tapes on the trousers. Last time, using a different tone of blue created all kinds of blending problems, so this one is much easier to shade.
Lots to do, but it's a lovely project.
