Thanks guys!

It was fun to sculpt this figure since it was a bit different for me. I'm glad you like it and I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Pedro; The head is from the 1:35 range, I think it came from the HH20 set, heads looking down.

Thanks again!

Best Regards Lars

Don't you find 1:35 heads to be too small for 54mm? I found even the 1:32 heads are a touch small... at least when trying to to use them with Historex headgear. Maybe I'm not fleshing them out with enough hair?

Making the figure from scratch obviously gives me the advantage to control the size of it. This figure is actually 54 mm but still the head is 1:35, it works because the body is bit skinnier the hands and feet are smaller. It is not really something I plan I just try to make it look ok. Also as you point out I make the head bigger with hair etc. But if I put the same head on a historex figure it would look like something from Men In Black (Actually the hornet 1:32 heads look to small) also I find that the hornet heads differed a bit in size, a one 1:35 head can work just fine on one 1:32 figure but not the next one. As you can see in picture of the figure in an early stage there is a different head, from the 1:32 range. I didn't like the mimic expression, it kind of looked like a troll or something. I picked up another (1:35) and it suited perfect. So for me it's a kind of trial and error which head goes with which figure. But I think Historex headgear always look big on any head since historex figures tend to be more like 60 than 54 mm in my opinion.

So it's really a matter of searching out a head that works... or always scratch building the headgear instead of trying to make manufactured hats fit.

Could be tough when doing multifigure dioramas

I guess so, it's a pity since the hornet heads are really good. Have you tried historex own headsets, not the plastic ones but the resin? They're quite good and better suited for historex conversions. I also recently discovered Metal Modeles spare parts, not seem them in the flesh yet, but I guess it's the same quality as their figures.

Yeah the hornet heads have great expression. The plastic historex heads are kinda lumpy and featureless, I've not seen their resin heads.I think the MM parts are from the existing figure castings, so yes, the quality is good... but not cheap.
