Just finished this guy up. I used the tutorial in the painting forum to do the embroidery. I also tried for a portrait style on his face.

You've done a great job using Zernina's technique....and the face is excellent as well.
 
Mike, that is superb painting. The embroidery is very impressive, and you've finished the face beautifully too.
Those German mercenaries sure liked to accessorize, didn't they? ;)

Oh Mike, . . . just outstanding. At least I can say I knew you
when. Oh Boy. What a creative and artistic modeler you are.
I say it all the time: you start with a basic amount of talent, and
the rest is putting the time in. Well, my friend, your time
has NOT been wasted. Just an outstanding presentation. I feel
like Kermit THE Frog! Green with envy. . . hee hee, not really.
Just glad to see, each time what your creativity produces. Whew!
