A little bit more today. Work on sash, epaulettes, awards, cuff, bicorne. Lighting is providing a bit of a yellow cast though.

The detail that you've achieved is truly outstanding.
Very well done with your speedy bounce-back.

Cheers,
Andrew

Truly outstanding work! If you fancy a version 3, Lannes was Colonel-General of Swiss troops in French service, and wore a red uniform in that role...could be interesting!

No chance Richard. I almost abandonned this one several times but am glad I didn't. Admittedly Lannes' Swiss uniform is impressive but I will be moving on to other projects when this is done. Likely Nelson or Dorsenne. Nelson has an interesting face and lots of cool awards. I have a document signed by Dorsenne and I like the idea of sculpting a 1/6 bearskin.

Read the Memoirs of Baron Marbot Colin. He was one of Lannes' ADCs and he describes that assault including the Marshal shaming his staff by grabbing a storming ladder to motivate the troops. Another great character and a great read. What book did you crack?
This is indeed a superb read that suggests many possibilities for figurers and dioramas. I highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in Napolionics.

Minimal progress today. Just minor revisions to complete. Feathers will be washed with sepia and black and then re-highlighted for texture. Bicorne tassels just undercoated. All the gold lace needs high highlights with white and naples yellow mix.
