You know when you start to paint a figure very well It doesn’t matter if its a good figure, but its always a bonus, just beautifully painted... cant wait to see it finished

Hello Mark,

Wonderfull paintjob! But what could we expect... :)

Maybe a torch or something like that in his right hand? Mmm, but how to do the fire...

And Mark, when can we see your next scratchbuild?

Looking frward to see this one finished,

Marijn

You then would have to repaint him with lights and shadows as if the torch was the lightsource.

Greetz,

Gino.

P.S. Have you seen the colour plate in Osprey book from where this figure comes? Maybe you can sculpt the 3 other figures from it? ;)

Really nice work so far Mark. Lovely shading and painting. :) I'm curious to see your groundwork. Keep up the good work.

Hello,
thanks again for the encouraging comments.

Gino,
I was very happy to get a medal at the Antwerpen show and I hope to be there in person next year. I'm glad to hear you like my painting. But there is still a long way to go for me and I try to improve with each new project. Hope to meet you at some show this year.

Einion,
the helmet is done with silver ink mixed with Humbrol gloss black. I use ink from an silver edding pen. Highlights are pure silver and for the shadows I stipple on black and blue oil paint.

Manfred,
sieht gut aus mit Ingolstadt, bin gespannt was Du mitbringst

Marjin,
a torch would be a nice idea, but I will probably opt for a "dragon flag" like shown on the Bayeux Tapestry.
Torch light would nevertheless be a real painting challenge.
My next sculpting project is a leaping Celt, but it still needs some time

Kisifer,
at the moment I'm in favour of a snowy setting

Regards,

Mark
