Right again.I think you are a natural. You should take up Greek, it's easier than what's believed. If you've mastered your painting techniques(as is obvious by the pics above)you can surely learn Greek.

Oda.

I've actually got a Learn Greek audio book that I'm learning from. :D I know it's not absolutely necessary in Greek holiday resorts but it's nice to show a little bit of effort and as we go every year there's no excuse not to learn some of the language.

The first steps with the oils.

Beautiful,absolutely beautiful!
Next time you are in Greece,PM me.

Oda.

PS:Without getting political, let me state here my profound respect for the British people and their decision. As part of a people much maligned collectivelly by Brussels, in the last few years, whose verdict has been countermanded by its own succesive goverments time and again(us Greeks that is),it is with overwhelming emotion that I salute Britains defiant and proud answer. For a third time within the last hundred years when freedom hangs in the balance,British people take up the sword to defend it.Stay together those of you who voted for Brexit and Bremain, don't let them tear you apart and keep in mind that we look upon you with admiration. And to use some lyrics of my favourite Scottish bard:
Lay the proud usurpers low
Tyrants fall in every foe
Liberty is in every blow
Let us do or die.
RULE BRITTANIA!

Getting better and better.I will now add what are probably the two most difficult words in this figure.Pouchbelt:φυσιγγιοθήκη:fysiggiothiki(where the s is pronounced as in start and all i as in spagheti)and bandoleer:φυσεκλίκια:fyseklikia(s and i as in thr previous word).By the way when this is finished, take the time and trouble to put it up for figure of the month. You'll definitely get my vote.

Oda.

Hi Oda.
Thank you, How did you know those were the next words I would need? :D This is actually helping alot with my understanding of the Greek alphabet. I don't why this hasn't been thought of before, paint a figure and learn another language at the same time. (y)

I'll aim on getting this in the July FoM.

As non native English speaker modelling has helped me improve my English a lot.I try to learn new words in English with every new miniature I paint or sculpt.Coming to think of it,I've improved in English more than I've done in painting.:joyful:

Oda.

Superb work Roger - you're a man of many talents!

Oda - thanks for the education!

Cheers

Huw

Thank you very much Huw. It is a real pleasure having Oda contributing along the way with this figure, I'm seriously thinking about another Greek subject as this one has proved a real education as well as a cracking figure to paint.
