David,

I must say I'm running out of adjectives for your work without repeating myself ad nauseum.
Therefore, at the risk of sounding maudlin, your Napoleonics are the benchmarks to which I strive:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Thank you for sharing

I have to echo Colin, I love this period and you are the reference for me also, I still keep and refer to your many magazine articles, so glad to see you back full steam into the hobby.

Acrylic Vallejo, yellow brown base, shadows add purple and dark blue, highs sunny skintone and lemon yellow to the base.:D

I would imagine an good oil base would be yellow/gold ochre, shaded with purple/dark blue and highs of ?? cadmium yellow and white into the base oil??(y)

Another super job David, I think the Royal Marines would be proud of this one.
Love what you have done with the red coat. Very nice indeed.

Wow! Your painting technique is superb. Could you please tell me how you achieve the wonderful matt finish with your oils? Have you posted anything on your painting technique that i can refer to? Cheers, John

Fantastic, I have been working on this same kit for a few weeks and modifying Verlinden's Royal Navy Carronade kit for a base. I'm really impressed with the British Scarlet and still struggling a bit with it now, using Vallejo at the moment but may switch back to the good old oils.
