Hello gents...
I've finally finished this guy. A nice surprise was the little glyph that came with the kit. I painted it up suitably weathered and faded and slapped it onto his base.

Any comments or questions are welcomed.

Another figure that you hardly ever see painted up, so doubly pleasing to see it done so well. Excellent work all round on what I'd be willing to bet is not the easiest of pieces to assemble or paint.

Nicely painted Phil. I have this one in my GA and it looks very dramatic. I presume that big hollow log he's holding is some kind of didgeridoo?

Thanks a lot Tony - much appreciated! To be honest, I have no idea what he's holding :). It's no doubt a horn of some sort, but to me when I originally saw this figure, I thought it was a blowgun, so I'm sticking with that :ROFLMAO:

Looks great - it looks like a complicated build with lots of large free hanging pieces. The skin tones are very convincing and I like the colour. Nicely based too with the glyph.
Cheers
Mat

Hi Mat, thanks for the kind words!
As far as the build itself, it was pretty straight forward with two exceptions:
  1. The headdress - getting all the feathers correctly placed was a very, very frustrating experience, and it took forever to get it all sorted out...
  2. The arms/hands/horn - each arm is a separate piece, along with the horn (the hands are sculpted on the horn). Getting each arm, the hands, and the horn all lined up together, was (at least for me) very, very difficult. At one point, the horn actually snapped in half!!
For the skin tones, if interested, I go into the colors used here .

I think it may be the Mayan version of a "yard of ale" ;)

Superb work Phil (y)
