Simply brilliant Mike
Beautifully rendered mate, you are some painter. Thank you.
Outstanding work Mike. As lifelike as one can get.
Chris
Amazing!! Who did you get the real skin from? Where's the WOW!! button?
Andy B
Wow, incredible painting. So realistic it looks like you should be able to see Mike's camera reflection in the eye.;)(y)(y)
Cheers Ken
Gobsmackingly superb!
Cheers,

Graham, Scotty, Chris, Andrew, Ken & Andrew.
Again guys really am grateful for each of your comments. THANKS!
Will begin another of the little busts of the Maori officer in next week.
Stay tuned for more on how I approach this one.

Stay safe,
Mike

Seen this on FB looks even better here, BTW I now have a lovely scarf and a pair of wooly gloves ready for wear on these cold days
Cheers
Thanks Bob, Facebook tends to compress images so you do not always get full effect of detail.
Glad you'll be able to stay warm during summer :)
Mike, I'd have to say when I first saw the release of these busts I wasn't that excited by them, but man have you brought them alive, so realistic that you've captured the mood...........magic.
Les.
Thanks Les, never one to judge a bust by its boxart ;-)
I was always keen on these busts when I saw quality of Antonio's sculpting.
Plus they are readily converted to give a different look & feel.
Somewhere on the line i missed this threat.
Saw it on FB. Got to say it here also: The best I ever seen.
Marc
Nice to get your feedback Marc - thank you!
Again Facebook doesn't always present photos in way you want to get feel for subject.
With this in mind here's another photo of the "boring bit" - the back.
I hope it gives a feel for attempts at an authentic feel for this young soldier.

Stay safe,
Mike

Nap
jaw droppingly fantastic.:wideyed:.
i have had to look at the pictures again to make sure they are the miniatures and not photos of real people, cannot wait to read the article in the mag.
tony

Goodness no pressure guys!
Seriously not sure if I can get across my approach & will certainly try to help with hints on my thinking.
Thanks again for follow up comments Nap & Tony :)

Sadly it is me with 72 pegs on my face. (I haven't done it for over 1years.) It's a party game that I'm good at and it does hurt a lot!! I do have a high pain threshold. The Guinness world record holder for this can stretch his skin from his neck up to his nose, so I have no chance!

Oh my goodness that's scary Andy :)
We all have 'special' hidden talents, yours aren't all hidden now ;-)

Somehow I wrote 1 year when it should have been 10 years - so I don't do it very often, I'm not that special! The sad thing about that photo is that after my friend took the photo he somehow deleted it, so asked me to peg up again and this is a 2nd photo!! Now I think that we should get back to your superb busts.....
