So here's my first vBench thread. This is a figure to represent a French ADC around 1809, based on references from Rousselot and the H&C books.
I'm hinting that he was a member of a chasseur regt. prior to his latest assignment, and have given him chasseur headgear and will be putting some leopard skin on the pommel area of the saddlecloth. So far I'm wondering if his headgear is not quite bulky enough, and I haven't added it's bag yet in any case. The rolled out putty did not turn out quite as well as I'd hoped on the saddlecloth, but with a bit of work will look better and be salvageable. The opposite side I expect to be a bit easier with the experience I gained from this attempt.
The legs of the rider are modified airfix, the head scale link (I think), horse is a michael roberts, rest will be scratchbuilt or historex spares. putties are MS, Apoxie, Greenstuff, and A&B, buttons are fine plastic rod cut across and will be hit with a tiny bit of brush on plastic cement to round the edges off a bit...a bit eclectic as I've been fooling around seeing what I like best for different applications.
Cheers,
Greg
