New release from MDC -Immelman

Hi Guys ,
I have recently received the latest release from Model Designn Construction (MDC) , a company who are making a great impact on the figure world with their small and ever expandinfg range of figures which includes full figures and busts , fantasy and military .

The one I would like to review is ;

Subject : WW1 German Pilot Max Immelman

Scale : Approx 1:10th

Material : Resin

Sculptor: Rob Lane

The review sample was received well packed in a plastic box with the pieces packed in recycled shredded paper.

Consiting of a total of 4 pieces , the Torso , the head , the cap and a pillar stand (with a representation of a aircraft cowling)

Looking now at the individual pieces now , the sculpt is based on an actual photograph of Immelman wearing a private purchase leather coat with a fur collar .
Nice detailing on the folds of the coat and the fur collar which will aid painting .

Onto the head and cap now , facial likeness is very good with the cap being a well represented sculpt , the peak is a good scale representation, both fit together really well with a small casting plug to remove from the underside at the back of the base of the cap.

Also you can see the pieces put together showing the good fit and the views from all angles (note the casting plug on the cap base has not been removed for the purpose of this review)

Final thoughts

Conclusion:

I do like this bust , its sculpted well and cast inhouse by MDC to a very
high standard which brings out the work that Rob Lane has put into the sculpt .

There is a small amount of work required to do before priming and painting but nothing major and well within the grasp of all of us.

It a period in history which should never be forgotten , this bust will make a nice companion piece to Robs previous pilot bust of Scholtz which I also have done on PF .

MDC have a reputation for producing figures at a reasonable amount , subjects are varied and interesting so well done to MDC for bringing some military subjects into their figure range , the cost is a mere £19:95 , very reasonable indeed and can be obtained from MDC with their usual great customer service by contacting them at [email protected] or ring them on Phone: Tel +44 (0) 1246 82 77 55.
