A bit more progress made this morning.
I've made a start on the coat initially using Scale 75 Tesla Blue for the shoulders and upper lapels, then Navy Blue for the remaining areas.
Towards the bottom of the torso I added some Deep Blue. A little highlighting and shadows were added, but keeping it subtle.
To add a little vibrancy to the colour, I gave the coat a glaze of Ultramarine Blue. For the purpose of the photo, I dried it off quickly with a hairdryer,
so I'll probably give it another glaze later an let it dry naturally.
On to the Bicorne, I added shadow by adding a glaze of Burnt Umber to the recesses of the lacing and left to dry.
Again wanting to keep it subtle, I added a few highlight some of the raised areas using Kimera warm yellow and Vallejo white.
For the felt of the bicorne, I've used oils to provide a different texture. Mars Black was thinned and applied around the edges and the crown, then I added
a blend of Black, Titanium white, and Prussian Blue to the remaining areas and blended them in. When its dried it should dry nice and flat.

Hi Malc

WHAT!!!!....you have a hairdryer ......LOL

Now you are really flying on this ....looks really good , like the bicorne , the golds work really well as does the treatment of the actual bicorne

Are you leaving the white triangle like that ..presumably to hint at his white faced grenadier uniform ......I was thinking going for green as for Chasseurs

I haven't done much on mine , moving between projects a lot recently but fear not will post ...probably tomorrow

Your doing a excellent paint on this ...look forward to seeing more and -sniks

Have FUN @ the bench

Hi Kev.

I'm leaving the shirt white, trying to replicate a still from the film as best possible.

I want to tidy up the coat a little before starting on the decoration.
A job for tomorrow.

As you can see I've been concentrating on the decor, there's still more to do, but I'm on the home straight now and hope
to have it finished in a few days.

Hi Malc

Liking the bling so far on the coat , be interesting to see how this progresses

Still can't get over how good the face is !

Happy blinging

Nap

thanks Nap.

The colours I'm using for the bling is quite straightforward. Scale 75 Walnut with a little Iroko for the base colour and then
Birch for the highlights.
These give you quite a realistic finish.
I'm glad you like the face, I'm rather pleased with it myself.
