I thought I'd have a bash at getting a bit more done, despite the heat.
For the session, I decided to use my wet palette, and believe or not, the paint started to dry out on that too, so I was regularly adding more water.
Still I managed to get some detail on the jacket varying the highlights to try and make the jacket look grubby.
I've a glaze of oils (Burnt Umber) to the leather strap, once that's dry I'll start adding further detail.

Coming along really nicely mate, plenty of grime on the uniform for a tank man, horrible smelly, noisey and clostophbic things, great figure though.

Cheers Simon

Cheers Simon, hoping to make some more progress tomorrow.
I would've hated to have been cooped up in a tank.

I sat in the drivers seat of a Chieftan once and that was enough, give me a 100lb bergan any day!

Thanks Nap, as for the colour of the jacket, I used references from the film and a new one for re enactors.
My base colour was Scale 75 Iroko, lightened with Birch and toned down with the addition of Black and Vallejo Chocolate brown.

Just a little progress made this morning, as I really need to concentrate on a sculpting job I'm doing for someone.
I've detailed the leatherwork with oils, and attached the arm and gun barrel.
There's a bit of filling required before I continue with the painting, but as you can see from the photo, its not too far off completion.

Great progress Malc, looking forward to seeing you paint the white glove, I assume it'll be leather and will paint up a treat with your method.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon. The glove is nicely sculpted so painting it should be fun, making them nice and grubby.

Thanks Nap.
Oh yes, I'll definitely be adding Fury to the barrel.
Thanks for posting the photos of the helmet, they're a very different colour green to the ones I've been looking at.
More research needed before I start on it.

Progress seems to have slowed down, but I've managed to get a little bit done this morning.
I've done some more work on the shadows and highlights, as well as repositioning the glove and adding some filler.

That's really great Malc, especially considering the colour, always difficult to balance properly I find but you've cracked it. The contrast with the shirt and jacket lining is ace.

Thanks Simon, painting a WW2 figure isn't something I've done much on, so working on these colours has been and experience, and I have to
admit an enjoyable one.
