Taff,

Not sure it will add much to the decision process, but I went with buff, 52nd and this is what it turned out like.

Hope this helps

Looking great Taff!!, i really like it.
Don't know if it is the pic but it looks a little on the light side, but i am sure is the camera.
No matter what other people think, as long as you are happy with it is GOOD!

Hi TaffJ,

Looking good so far , I would probably go a little more shadowing on the jacket and breeches , but very much a personal choice.

Are you painting over a black primer ?

Good move to go with the buff , nice contrast between that and the white of the breeches .

Thanks for posting

Nap

Yea I like it too. I'm all in favour of the parade ground look. I'm not skilled enough yet to pull off the dirty field damage look.

Being a Navy lad bless Taff can't work complex things like file posting so his Uncle Steve has to do it for him  Here's his fellah's strides

Aye cheers for that Steve (y) . I was pretty happy with how the breeches turned out, however at the suggestion of Steve I will be layering a few more coats of white/grey.

Cheers for that Carl, I finally understand that plenty of water is key. When I finished these the other day I wasnt to happy about playing with them any further. However I've adopted the old 'in for a penny, in for a pound' attitude so should have more pictures later.

Haha, You think thats bad Roger? I have stripped Black Bob 10 times! Cheers for the words though. Question for you. Where did you get the page with those uniforms on?

Hi Taff,
It might pay dividends to block in the boots and tunic, the breeches will look different again. You can the decide how much more contrast you want to layer up as Roger described, if any!
cheers
Richie(y)

Hi Roger,
Any good Zulu war references in the Thin Red Line?
cheers
Richie
