Dear Gary,

Simply amazing. It's beautiful !!

I have a comment though and I hope that you do not mind. I personally think that the buttons may be a little bit too thick. Imagine if you measure the thickness and amplify it to the actual size......

regards

Kreston & Kenneth, Thanks guys. It's nice to get something done so I can move on to other things.

Wong, I guess the buttons seem large in the photos which are abot 2-2 1/2 times the actual size of the figures. I'll have another look at them and sand down the ones that may appear large. This was the first time making buttons this way and thickness can be a problem. Thank you for your observations.~Gary

Well done Gary

Looks excellent! thanks for sharing the progress of the sculpt - as ever very educational :)

Look forward to thier painting

Gary,

More than merely copying a 2D painting, I feel that you have successfully captured the essence of Griffing's work.

I particularly like the bare-headed figure. The feeling of grief is so evident in this character: the tilt of the head, the hanging hair lock, the hand holding the bonnet. This is one of the precious moments when a hobby/crafts borders on art.

This sculpt looks so great that it doesn't need to be painted.

A great achievement. (y) (y) (y)

Congratulations my friend, I enjoyed much.

Guys, Thank you all for the kind words. This is the greatest site for figures and I enjoy the company of the fellow miniaturist that make this a fine community.

Quang, I consider This an artform and your compliment means quite a lot to me.~Gary

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to let you all know that I received the figures from Gary and the pictures cannot even equal the great job that Gary has done on this project! Now he has putt all the pressure on me because I would love to just keep them they way they are and not put any paint on them! It is such a great study on how to sculpt and I think I will study them for a while before I start to paint.

Thanks again Gary.

Joe

I agree Joe, having handled some of Gary's original's myself, I just wanted to study them for hours!

Dan, Thank you very much for the kind words. Never be intimidated just inspired by those whose work you're viewing. I've been doing this since I was 14, and still have not gotten to where I want to be. I will always be in a state of learning. Give it a try.~Gary
