A Fixture
Hello All,
I wanted to post these pics of a figure I did a couple of years ago. It is a Creole Boatman or "Voyageur" from the Lewis and Clark expedition. These rough and ready men were experienced boat handlers and guides who were hired by the expedition. The Creoles were more a cultural than an ethnic group. They were made up of Feral Frenchmen mixed in with Native Americans and "mullatoes" (mixed race) people from the Carribean. They were somewhat wild and dressed in a very colorful manner which inspired me to sculpt the figure in the first place.
The figure was painted by Carson Van Osten. It was originally to be a Pegaso kit but they had a problem with one of the legs which they were unable to explain to me. So, it is presently a master without a home. The figure is 54mm and was designed with the base and dog as well.
