We are all stressed, but I just received a personal message from Hugo..now many may not know he comes from a background of military field medicine, now an ER doctor..this guy is flat out, overrrun..and dreading that soon he will be choosing who to treat and who to let die. Yet he took time to ask after me and Cathy, offer some good advice: not just washing hands, but taking a bath and washing clothes after being out. These people are on the front lines and put their own health and that of their families at risk ..and produces some darn fine miniatures for us to enjoy..hats off to those who roll up their sleeves and do the work..he’s one class guy and an honour to count a friend

Well, recently saw the swarms of Grasshoppers in Africa on tv eating everything that comes in their way....
Like this virus they also are extremly hard to get rid off and when you think they're gone they turn up again when you least expect it. True plagues, that's for sure.

For the record: Last year into the Netherlands, 400.000 people get the flue. 2900 died. Nobody says anything about that.
The corona virus is from along time in our life. There are alot of Corona viruses around us.
SARS was a corona RNA mutant....in 2003. 8718 people got the disease.....and 711 people died from it..
MERC was also a corona RNA mutant in 2013 ....total global infected where 2949 and 780 people died.
The Corona virus COVID-19 has a global infection of 106.800 untill 8 march. What you don't hear is that 60.362 people recoverd. 3600 people died worldwide.

so what I wanna say is that MERC was more diedly then the Corona from today.
But the media have nothing more to report every hour and every journal on TV about the tremendous outbreak of this virus.
For the healthy people (luckly the most are) it is nothing more then a light version of the flue.
For the old, sick and weak healthy people it is more then that...but that is also for a normal flue.

So let us stop with panic buying.....the corona flue will get over when it is become spring.

Certainly not laughing it off , there may be more casualties when the food supply runs out and if it does we will see riots .
 
Yes well stocked up. Emptied the shelf in asda of all the food colourant, cup cake cases, Swan vesta matches, toilet stuff to make the water a pretty colour and enough pumice stones to scrape the skin from my feet for an entire year. I'm all set to ride out the apocalypse

As the UK Government has today ordered all pubs, clubs & restaurants to close so as to reduce the spread of the virus, our local pub (which we use frequently for meals out etc) has appealed via social media to all its regulars for financial help, in the form of buying a bond or share in the business so that they can hopefully keep it solvent until they are allowed to reopen.

We’ve responded to the call by giving them a donation, & if all the regulars contribute they may ride out the pandemic. Many other small businesses may be in the same position, & being proactive like our local pub could be a useful tool for them.

Communities can always help each other in small ways. Just a thought.......
