Fully assembled except spurs. I need to fill some gaps in his pelisse cords. The pelisse is only base coated. The sabretache and sword are at about 75%. Boots still need work and lots of clean up to do. But I wanted to see him fully kitted out.

Hi Colin

A Like doesn’t seem enough so it’s a 😲 WOW! from me

Really enjoying the whole thread so far , interesting your painting the pelisse in situ ...or has it yet to be fixed in place ?

Look forward to seeing more

Have fun

Yes the pelisse has been fixed in place. Shouldn’t present a problem…I hope.

Ready for embroidery. Greens are Liquitex acrylic gouache (sponge & brush applied) with Liquitex ink washes.

Very nice, never considered using gouache before, I always thought it was quite fragile. Your sponge technique works really well.

These paints are my first experience with gouache. I bought a sampler box set. Liquitex’s new gouache product is bottled. Similar to a watery acrylic with very fine pigment, decent coverage, and a good matte finish.

Sounds good, a bit like the old Pelikan Plaque, or whoever it was spelt.

Never used it so can’t comment. It mixes well with artist and hobby acrylics too. The colours are very vibrant.

This morning’s progress. Pelisse braid still needs inking and high highlights. Lots of tidying up still needed. Especially his boots.
