I was a little unsure of the 'pinky' red surcoat at first, but now that the entire part is finished it looks terrific - to me it really looks like a 'faded' red - fantastic work Luca!

check Augies forum, they are pretty serious over there and if a lace is wrong they will tell you all about it in great detail.
My kind of people.

I would say the comments on Augie's site are more for those that are concerned with accuracy. If you are not, they can be easily ignored by those concerned more with the "look" of the figure. In addition to commenting on the historcity of commercial figures the site is also has a wealth of info on the period, and even more valuable if you have questions.~Gary

Johan have a good idea, and now I have a trouble in my mind. Richard is one on my favorite heros. I think that follow the way of keithP.
A neat subject for this figure. I'm sure others will follow this route and do something other than what the figure is meant to depict.~Gary

Ciao Luca!

Well, well, well! Richard looks reaaaaaaaally good :)
Luca, will you paint the coat with Themplar's cross? I read about Richard the Lion Heart, when he was arriving home from third crusade, he had white templar's coat. He was not in the order of Templars, but he had hope, he will turn back safe.
(information from Martin Bauer's book "Die Tempelritter. Mythos und Wahrheit.")

Best regards
Artur

... I just LOVE this !!! :) Great paintjob, Luca ! And yes, I too was thinking of a white cloak with red templar's cross or crusader's cross ... seems there's a lot of telepathy going on here !

I'm checking this topic everyday for new installments, this is turning out to be a great figure !!

... Perhaps Pegaso might just as well decide to change the subject into "Richard the Lionheart" and have Luca's figure photographed for the box top art ? :)

 thanks my fryends, yes Iwill paint the templar cross on the cape, and the shield, I will paintthe lions and the cross. thanks for everything. ciao from luca :)

My medium for the colors is SANSODOR OF W&Newton. ciao stefano ciao to all friends ;)
Hi Luca
I'm interested to read that you use Sansador with your oils. What benefits does this give you and do you still use heat to matt the oils
Great paint job
Brian

Luca,
great work so far! I think the red color scheme for "Richard" is really going to add some life to this figure. Keep us posted.
