Yep voting for the best sculpt of the year FEELS the right way to go for me,
but I also think we'd have to do a top 3 each with pics.
I'm an absolutely avid Napoleonic fan but Nuts planet Lieutenant Winters on D day
is one of MY top three
(I don't want to say the others until we do this for real).

I've got a question:
Any member can create a poll with an initial number of possible candidates. The question is, once created, it would be possible to edit the poll list for adding more questions as any new candidates are being suggested to the list?...
If so, we would have a broad range poll where the tastes and sugestions of many member would be represented.

o.k. For me, this is exactly what I hoped this topic would accomplish. The photo of the Lieutenant Winter kit from NutsPlanet has actually convinced me to buy the kit as I now see that the quality of the sculpt most definetely will aid me in realizing a better quality paint job. Subject matter and scale aside, you can't help but to think this will be a great kit to paint. I somehow completely missed this release and it's possible I might not have ever know it existed without this thread.
Thanks Paul!

I personally think 2014 was a year without history when it comes to choose the model of the year. This was the best figure, and already a classic on its own.

Life Miniatures RAF pilot and his pet. Sculpted by Seung-Yeop Lee and released in January:

And something flows in the waters in January. Because in 2015 we already have a tough contender to beat: CGS upcomming Cuirassier capturing the 69th regiment flag at Waterloo. Miniature sculpted by Carl Reid ... let's see if someone can raises the bar higher than this...

My two cents: CGS Scots Greys Bugler 1815; Pegaso 75mm mounted Celtic chieftain; Beneito 24th Foot at Rorkes Drift scene (I have to admit that that Carl Reid Cuirassier is a beauty as well).

Returning to this topic. Here's Modellfan "Modell des Jahres" award in the cathegory for figures. Perhaps the ancients and most important trophy's of this industry.

Congratulations Darren!!! Even if I putted my vote in the RAF 1/9 fighter, I perfectly recognize this lancer will become a classic! He is a marvel on his own!

He is
