My new camera arrived today. So I've been having a play around and took these shots of my Jon Smith 54mm French infantryman.
Any tips on painting ,or photography gratfully received.

His left eye looks a bit dodgy in the pics and has been rectified, I never noticed it until after I took these.

Roger,

Great painting on a great figure who is a representative for that ugly war.
I like the whole setup. If you can fix his eye it would be a really great painted figure, no more a fabulous.

Great work Roger.
I like the colors you've used. Once again, I really like your painting of the leather gear. How was this kit to build? I have seen it before and like the looks of it. I like the opened coat exposing the different layers of clothing.
I haven't got a lot of reference mat'l. on Great War French so I haven't picked this one up yet. Come to think of it, I don't have much reference mat'l. on the Austro-Hungarians either and that didn't stop me from picking up the Fusilier Sturmer.
 Maybe I'll jump in head first on this one too.
Keep up the Great (War) work.

nice paint job on the figure, and nice pics too. That camera takes really nice close up shots. What brand of camera is it? I am considering bying a new digital.

thanks

Thanks Steve. The camera is a Konica Minolta Dimage Z6. I'm very pleased with results I've got so far. It's simple to use but it will take me the rest of the year to read and fully understand the manual and get the best from it.
