A questions for Napoleonic people.
The sappers had moustache, beard and long hair collected, and the old guard earrings. What kind of earring is correct? Ring, pendulant, the typical one with the pearl crimped... And there was an official number of it for ear, or no official but common? Always left ear or both? I watch 1 ring in the left ear in some pictures and draws, but i don't have documentation about it.

What era?

diggers (sapeurs) always with long beard
the engineers just a mustache
Earrings were not only in the guard grenadiers
Earrings even both ears, are a personal thing unregulated

Let me check

Hi Jai.
You're very fast. I don't really know the era of the bust, i think is Waterloo (is the Nuts Planet " Sapper, foot grenadiers of the Guard" Really a beauty sculpting and casting). For what i understad (I've got my french forgotten since highschool), both ears, and gold rings was the most "common". Thank you very much mate. I read that tattos were common too at the guard men, but there is no place to put one on this piece.

for earrings, tattoos ways of wearing her hair etc .. you need to refer to the fashion of the time. and even where he lived the military.
some drawings from my collection of books
White 2nd Regiment

to make faster I used camera and not the scanner, excuse the picture quality
