I'm currently working on a figure that I laid the basecoats onto something like 20 years ago. Do I win a prize for longest on - going project?
(it's going quite well I think)

That beats me. I have some figures that I started 5 to 6 years ago, but nothing going back as far as 20 years.

Prost!
Brad

A postscript...
Maybe more like 10 to 12 years. I have some that I started after I moved into this house, and that was in 2002. But still nothing going back as far as yours does.

Strange you should bring this up Jim. By coincidence, I just finished this today. I've had it for so long, I don't even remember who the manufacturer was! I was digging around in a spares box and got this wild hair to paint it up straight away, this was three days ago. It was already assembled so I just primed it and had at it. I think I got it back in the early 90's or late 80's maybe.

Excellent stuff for 3 days work joe. But sadly, according to the rules that I've just made up, you're disqualified from the longest wip competition as brush did not touch figurine till 72 hours ago. Sorry about that.
Also realised that I still have usable paint that dates from the same time, they built things to last back then, muttergrumblemutter GET OFF MY LAWN!

Joe - If its 120mm its a Verlinden kit - just finished one 2 yrs. ago!! Nice painting by the way!! I think I have a shot at the award - I have "working on Bill Hearne's Ribald Dragoon since 1989 - painting mostly done - need to assemble & put on a base and do some touch ups!! Dave

How about me having a prize for completing every model that I have started before starting another including all the buildings on my railway:).
I must surely be a rarity.
Ralph.

I think Verlinden did both a 120mm and a 1/32 of this great little scene. i have them both and coincidentally was going to do one soon. Yours is great Joe. If its Verlinden its the wee one. I didn't know Hornet had done a version.
