Hello Fred, glad to have you with us :)

I'm pretty close to the same boat, I have touched paint or brush for the past 11 years! ;)

Looking forward to meeting you and learning with everyone!

Cheers!

I just thought of something and couldn't remember if it was discussed before or not. What about a bases for the finished figure. Do we provide our own? Speaking of bases.....what about when we are painting the figure? Again, do we provide our own temporary base for painting the figure? Sorry for the mundane questions. I just couldn't remember if we talked this through or not.

Glad to have you here, Fred!
Alex, the miniature is made of resin. My idea, in the begining of the class is to give a small intro on cleaning and primming miniatures. Bring any tools you may feel comfortable with. I may recruit you to help ;)
here is the link to the miniatures website:

FeR,

Thank you for the link of the wonderful figurine for the seminar and answer, "resin".

Yes, please "recruit" me for help. I'm more than willing. Depending on my transport up there, I will try to take part or all of my file and micro file collection to pass around to us students for seam clean up.

I may be speaking too early but I think Steve with "creative foundations" is donating 25 turned bases for participants of the class. I hope I haven't spoken for him but I know he was really upset he couldn't make it and wanted to do his part for the class. I'll see him this weekend and see if he has talked to Gordy yet. But to make a long answer longer you will have bases.

I will be bringing my wife Sheila. She is looking for touristy things to do and has found several. If anyone else is bringing someone that isn't at all interested in painting, let me know and I'll see if she wants some company.

I'm new to the forum and have one of the last seats at the table! Really excited about this outstanding opportunity. Have booked my room at Embassy as well and really looking forward to it. I really appreciate the questions that have been asked and the responses have been most helpful in knowing what to bring! I truly look forward to learning from Mr. Ruiz and from my classmates! Jim Patrick's enthusiasm is quite catching and the generosity of those posting is amazing!

Gordy, I can't thank you enough for helping arrange the seminar and for helping me be a part of this! Like several of you, I only recently started painting again after about 16 years, so this is just what the doctor ordered! Dave Wiggins
