It is understood that the Seminar figure "Violinist" with be painted (exclusively) with Vallejo brand acrylic paints.

Question: Besides the primary colors (red, blue, yellow) is there a specific list of Vallejo colors that will be used during the painting process of the seminar figure?

List for skin tones and list for clothing? Any 'earth' tones involved?

Just trying to get familiar and comfortable with the Vallejo brand line before the seminar.

Thank you for assistance on this question.

We have to paint the figure with Vallejo paints? Maybe I am reading this wrong?

Well, I haven't painted yet the sample to bring there so I'm not pretty sure about which tones we'll be using. We'll have at our disposal a nice arrange of vallejo paints. I have to provide a list of paintings to them so, I can publish it here also as soon as I have it.
In any case, you can bring any acrylics you want. We'll surely use them somehow.

I'll be painting mine with Vallejo's paints. Is the sensible thing to do if you keep in mind that they are the most extended acrylic brand, the easiest to find and the ones who are willing to give a lot of materials without asking any money in exchange ;). As this is the brand we'll be having there so, it is the easiest way to give some references on what to do.
In any case, if you prefer any other acrylics brand, feel free to bring them along. I use several different companies products so we'll be fine (y)

Fernando,

Thank you very much for the response. I'm very excited & looking forward to the seminar and you, "El Maestro", showing (me) the 'way' on how to paint miniature figurines with water based acrylic paints. Be those paints, Vallejo or any other brand of acrylics.

Thank you very much for your words, Alex
I wish I also have the time to get a few lessons from you. Your custom bikes are simply awesome, mate (y)
I have always wanted to build a couple of Ed Roth's Hot Rods so, I will try to get a couple of hints from you if we get some spare moment

Thanks Alex for sharing pictures of the kit! Should be a lot of fun! It will be great to learn how to straighten that bow!

A question.
Would it not be better and time saving to mail the figure out, ahead of time, to the entrants so that they can clean it up, assemble, pin, and prime the figure and then when we arrive it would be ready for paint. This would save waiting for primer to dry prior to paint? It would save everybody bringing a drill. Can we request that that we would like to do that?

Looking forward to learning.
Cheers

John,

Great question ;)

We had discussed that very topic in the preliminary planning and had concluded for the interest of simplicity to take care of that at the workshop, for a few reasons:

- Shipping betwixt here and Spain is very protracted, it takes at best one month to get parcels (large) back and forth due to customs.

- Customs would manhandle the items, where as Fernando will carry-on the items (and save shipping rates)

- Priming the pieces on site will ensure everyone will be working from the same canvas, e.g.: if one participant uses another primer the results might be different, at worse may have unsatisfactory results and an unpleasant experience.

- Pinning and drilling, Alex has offered to bring his moto-drill making quick work of that (thank you Alex) and pinning material will be provided for.

- The primer Fernando uses is acrylic and will not be a hindrance for getting started.

I hope that answers your questions :coffee:

Onto a couple other items that I'll mention:

Palettes and cork ;)

For holding the miniature while painting, cork stoppers will be provided for each participant ;)

Palettes, (Chewing Gum Blister Packs ;) ) We have enough palettes on hand for everyone, however feel free to bring extras if you desire, like seen here in the second photo:

I anyone has questions feel free to inquire!
