what a find today at the hobby shop.

I went to the hobby shop today, (Hill Country Hobby, San Antonio, TX) and thought I "died and went to (vallejo) heaven".

Call 'Gary' at Hill Country Hobby and he can hook you up with all the Vallejo paint that you can afford.

I gotta be on a plane by 6:10pm on Sunday. How long does it take to get to the airport from the hotel?

Only three weeks!

From Embassy to Lambert, less than 15 minutes. 7.6 Miles

Shuttles and cabs run between Lambert and Embassy, and they can probably give you a precise time ;)

It's coming fast! :)

Unfortunately I cannot be there on Thursday evening. I will be leaving from Kansas City Thursday night.

Anyone interested in Formula 1? On the 2nd of the September there will be a Senna movie premiere in St. Louis. That is the only town that shows this movie for the entire midwest.

Hello gang, sorry to add this so late. I spoke with Gordy a week or two ago and he agreed that this would be a great idea:

On the Saturday night after class, I will be opening my home to an informal gathering for all seminar attendees and their significant others for a meal and drinks. I have yet to come up with a menu, but I was thinking of preparing most of the food before hand, and perhaps throw some meat on the grill when everyone arrives (thinking about pork steaks, a St. Louis specialty). Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

It might help to get a head count of those who know they will attend so that we can prepare enough refreshments, and of course anyone can bring anything to sweeten the pot :p

As for rides, I know that we will have at least 3 locals who can help shuttle people without wheels.

Charlie

I'll be driving as well, so count me in for needed transportation. My problem now is trying to concentrate on anything else.:) I'm so looking forward to this workshop that I already have several ideas for the scene that I want to place the figure in.

I would like to bring my wife and 2 years old daughter with me, but my wife wonders what could they possibly do in the time while I will be in the class.
Visiting a St. Louis ZOO is a great idea, but that is just for one day. What other places would you recommend over there for kids to spend a good time?

Charlie, thank you very much for the hospitality! We'll work on that headcount :)

Tom, I'm looking forward to it as well and can't wait!

Piotr, the Zoo is great there are a couple other attractions as well that will be suited for a toddler:

St Louis Magic House

The Magic House will engage all children in hands-on learning experiences that encourage experimentation, creativity and the development of problem solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic.

Grant's Farm

There are many exciting animal encounters possible at Grant's Farm, the 281-acre ancestral home of the Busch family, located just south of the city of St. Louis. The Farm is home to more than 900 animals representing more than 100 different species. Grant's Farm, operated by Anheuser-Busch, Inc., has been a St. Louis tradition for over five decades. More than 24 million guests have visited this popular family attraction during its history.

The Butterfly House

Facing a picturesque lake and fountain inside Faust Park, The Butterfly House, a division of the Missouri Botanical Garden, is housed in a soaring glass conservatory.

Saint Louis Science Center

Hundreds - really, hundreds - of hands-on exhibits at the Saint Louis Science Center, coupled with the OMNIMAX Theater and the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, make for all-day family adventure, exploration, and entertainment.

City Museum

Massive rocks, wire "slinkies" that serve as bridges, reclaimed aircraft fuselages, three-story slides, caves crafted from a factory's conveyor tunnel system, textures of every sort - City Museum is truly an architectural wonder to behold, inducing deliriously delighted children who rush forward into the playful abyss with nary a look behind them.

Cheers!

I'm scared of heights, but always wanted to ride the 'egg' up the arch.
If I could do the bungee jump at Wisconsin Dells, then the arch should be a cake walk.
Scratch one more off the "bucket list".

LOL, It's queasy but not too bad, the security is really tight, i went up there last fall and had to go through a bunch of checkpoints and wanded, the museum at the base is really well done.

Some shots from last fall, not the best pics (from my cell phone) :
