Some more progress.
Hope to start with the helmet decals soon. I really like decalling, always my favourite when building 1:72 airplanes.

Looking really good RJ, have you tried printing your own decals on decal paper? Apparently not too difficult with a reasonable graphics software package, it would open a lot of options.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon. I want to give a try sometimes. Got some decalpaper but never used it.

Totally agree

Great to see the painting , camo looks excellent as James said .......inspiring

Liking the fleshtones and the UN blue

Happy benchtime

Nap

Thanks Nap, for you kind words and support.

Made some progress this weekend. Added all the items. Next step is to add decals to the helmet and to finish the painting.

Hello everyone,
I have started with a new figure, an Aboriginal warrior during the fight against the white settlers around the 19th century.
I am also very interested in the colonial era and it is something different from my usual camo patterns and army green. The figure is a mix and match of a Firestorm torso, 3D printed legs from Army49, some spare resin hands and a head from Helo. Modeling is again with MS and Duro.

Hi Robert

Great subject and certainly very different ,be interesting to see what references you saw for the choice

Following with much interest

Happy sculpting

Nap

Nice start and a really interesting subject, a much overlooked chapter of colonialism, maybe after this a Maori would be appropriate.

Cheers Simon

Thanks guys. A Maori is certainly on the to do list. I got inspired by rumbling though my Osprey books, by the illustration from Rick Scollins in Queen Victoria’s enemies. Reference in the book is pretty basic so did some searching on the internet. Just got out of the rabbit hole in time…found some stunning pictures…
