Graham and Steve thankyou ! I got another bust jn the post today master class polish cuirassier 17th century. When this is done ill get started with that then I have some military stuff to do.. A quick question. The master class bust is hollow. What's the best way to mount it? Fill it and build a column? I'm used to the two bust I have done and they had columns underneath !
More progress tomorrow , I'm off to the club and might get a bit more painted

Never seen a hollow bust! I am sure someone will have experienced it. Can you post a pic?

Just puzzled me a bit lol!

Mmmmm, would take a lot of filling. I think I would try shaping a piece of wood to create a post inside the cavity fixed in with two part resin so that it is just short of the bottom of the bust. The post or pedestal can then be pinned and attached to the post inside. If that makes sense.

Graham thankyou , hopefully I can work something similar to what you said to fix the new guy. I'm excited to get started but I must finish this first. Decorating has been getting in the way this week. Stripping my old fireplace down to the pine after 200 years of paint oh the joys.
Rurik had had his hand and sword painted, game workshops for the gold pommel and hilt and the blade is alclad polished aluminium for a mid, chrome for the extremes and jet exhaust for the underside. I haven't brush shaded much metal so I am pleased with the decorative pommel? It was blended from dark greeny copper through to gold and silver for the extreme light. I may add a wash to bring out the detail later. The hand was a pain as it was painted and masked with white tac, that lovingly peeled away a few layers of fingerskin.. Anyway. All that's left is the leather vambrace and the blue of the sleeve needs deadening and re highlighting

Really like this. It has a tension of someone about to do battle that they really don’t know if they can win. The colours and tones really work to bring out the feeling.

Graham thankyou ! I didn't think of it like that, he looks a bit defiant, ready to fight, I'm glad the mood came out ok! I'm pleased with him and looking forward to starting the next one (already primed lol)
