Sainsburys Christmas advert

It seems to have become a 'tradition' (I use that word carefully) for the UK retailers to fall over themselves trying to outdo each other for adverts running up to Christmas.

However, Sainsburys (a large grocery retailer) have actually come up with something very good this year, and as its with the Royal British Legion has to be applauded.

Absolutely, when I saw the ad last night I almost thought I was watching a tie-in with your figure set - the similarities were so close, same uniform details and everything. It's a great vignette that and looked great on the ww1 stand at Telford.

Well said Darren if it had exploited seal puppy children riding unicorns I'd still like it to annoy that rag Who oddly enough advertise 'When the Lamps Went Out' (Presents a surprising, immediate, sometimes humbling, sometimes uplifting insight into what British society was reading about, and thinking, during the Great War.) for sale from their own bookshop. in a totally unhypocritical way It is a stunning advert and at least the BL will get cash from it

To be Honest even if the point the Guardian was making was true which to me is dubious it wouldn't be the first time that the poor sods in the trenches were used for profit even going back to all the profiteers at the time who made millions on the back of the poor benighted Tommies sacrifice....I remember a scots veteran in his nineties talking about getting in to the German Trenches after an attack and seeing the floor carpeted with Blue Circle cement bags and being disgusted at the sacrifice of his mates whilst somebody back home was getting rich....Kevin
