That is just insane!!!!! The brush work is flawless IMHO, and the base work is complimentary to the figure, not overdone but subtle in its approach and completion.

I followed your vBench with interest. Really wonderfull painting and great ground,. Those whom painted any samurai knew the time work and desperation (sometimes only) to finish. I hope you'll have good judges cause your work is a masterpiece without doubt.

Kevin, neat! Which site? There are a lot of amazing entries this year. I think this might be the toughest year yet at this show. For everyone else, the judging is podium style, so there's only 3 winners per category. I'm hopeful it will get one of those spots, but considering the quality of the other entries, who knows. I'll have to post photos of some of the other pieces in the category so you can see what he's up against!

your model is in one if the blog entries. Beasts of War gets traffic from all over the world. They only photographed a couple of models being judged and yours is one of them. Congrats.

If there would be a 'guild' of figure painters, a samurai would be the classical masterpiece. A major painting and construction challenge.
