Crikey that must have taken some work. But it's paid off big time. I admire your tenacity - I think that would beat me having to do all the freehand designs.

Good luck in your comp - its already a winner for me.

Technically impeccable,historically accurate,balanced composition,artistically and aesthetically pleasing.Hats off!!!!!!

I can't stop coming back and looking at this. Irrespective of medals or lack of medals at shows, this is already a contender for "pF Figure of the Year 2016" in my book.

You are completely right : the face is far more better without the moustache !
PRetty good job
Maybe a little bit of dirt/mud on the knees ?
Excellent, anyway (y)

I followed your vBench with interest. Really wonderfull painting and great ground,. Those whom painted any samurai knew the time work and desperation (sometimes only) to finish. I hope you'll have good judges cause your work is a masterpiece without doubt.

Thanks, everyone.

Kevin, neat! Which site? There are a lot of amazing entries this year. I think this might be the toughest year yet at this show. For everyone else, the judging is podium style, so there's only 3 winners per category. I'm hopeful it will get one of those spots, but considering the quality of the other entries, who knows. I'll have to post photos of some of the other pieces in the category so you can see what he's up against!

Stunning work David and congrats on your perseverance! Amazing freehand and pleasing colour scheme.

If there would be a 'guild' of figure painters, a samurai would be the classical masterpiece. A major painting and construction challenge.

Cheers,
Adrian
