I think I will catch the train to London via dundee and leuchars the a plane to Paris and then catch a rickshaw back to Edinburgh. And then drive to the Hilton at the airport on 2nd thoughts I could walk.......no I will drive save my legs and I can keep going to the car to stash my stash.
It would be good to see any of you. Come say hello if you come along. Pete on the Kitmaker Bulldogs stand.

Ho ho ho Brian two shows a year.... Bless,
My trip to darlo was the same journey time from liverpool mate
and I then attended raf cosford with a 12 foot display of models the next day.

Bearing in mind I'd also done bolton, huddersfield, crewe, meir, stoke-on trent too, so it was actually a blessing last month to just do Oundle and haleowen back to back, and a two and a half day exhibition in liverpool, this weekend it's wombourne on sunday, then walsall, then euro.
After a week off, (I have to miss out on the bmss interbranch this saturday annoyingly), but then it's newark and then telford and finally wilmslow the week before xmas.
I must apologise for not taking model shows seriously I suppose, hey-ho.:D
If you promise to have a good time with the bathgate kitbasher, I'll stand you a pint at euro mate, you'll need one after your journey.

Well FMD Paul, your a well travelled modeller and that's no lie.I take my hat off to you,and your now my hero:whistle:

Today was the inaugreal show of Scale Scotland at Edinburgh Hilton near the Airport.

A great 1st show and all the yellow jerseys are to be commended for putting on a superb show. I believe they were looking at a public paying count of 300 but it didn't have 300 paying public.....it had 500. The compertition was very very good, some superb models and figures on display. Plenty of traders to part you with your hard earned, and a great number of display tables with clubs from Scotland (of course) and England.
Re enactors from WW1 were a nice touch, and Help for Heroes present. I have no doubt that the Capital shall have a regular show from now on.
The comp. I usually put a couple of models in at least, and I did as usual participate. I am now the very proud owner of 2 Gold medals for a Yamaha R1 and my Chevy 57 Bel Air rusty which has now won 1st in all the Scottish shows. Time to retire her now I am afraid......well in Scotland. I think it might make an appearance at Telford.
I had a couple of helpers today. Both work collegues who have shown an interest in my models and have now decided to partake in their own plastic building. I hope to have them signed up as Bulldogs in the near future. And also Simon from IPMS Edinburgh and also one of the organisors today is thinking of joining up too.
Anyway enough blethering here are the few pictures I took.

well done to all the winners, great show, well organised, look forward to the next one. thank you to everyone who spoke to me,and special thanks to my long suffering wife, who finds the whole thing rather boring, but puts up with me. cant wait till the next one/badger

Congrats to all the medallists and also to the organisers who put on a great show.

Is that the guys from Darlington?

Yes that is the lads from Darlington in the background, from left to right Dennis, Harry with his back to the camera and me.
It was a fantastic 1st show and very successful, the organisers did a great job. The venue, hospitality, warm welcome, help and good old patter was top notch. Our lads all thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Our club also took a few gongs, 4 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze that I can remember.

It was nice to meet some of the old faces Ian, Mario, Del, Davey, Ron, Brian and Grant. Well done lads on your awards and a special well done to Davey for best of show. It was also nice to meet Bill and Barry for the first time. I would certainly recommend the show and will definitely go again.
cheers
Richie
