The gold work looks really good mate, I'd be inclined to get a darker shade into the deep creases between the separate strands of braid the make up the eppulet and aguilette. The need might change once the scarlet is done though.

Spent some time rebasing the uniform and sash and tidying up the basecoats generally as I can’t work without a neat start .....OCD or what ...lol

Not started flesh yet .......tempted to get the torso fully done ....

Nice job Kev, interesting what you say about needing a neatness to start your top coats. I'm the opposite I can't paint neat and tidy from the start, I just kinda refine it as I go. There must be as many approaches as there are figure painters!

Thanks mate ...nothing wrong with the way you paint for sure ......I probably use more paint than needed !

Agree how we approach a figure must be very varied ..but it’s all about enjoying
