Hello Planeteers.

And it is here

The winning suggestion is Heterist Greece, we congratulations, Nicolaos(y) . It was close, but in the end we chose your warrior from the Greece war of independence. It is a beautiful and majestic figure and will be a great pleasure for me to work on it. Given the subject of the war for independence, I decided to stylize the figure to dramatically tense, leadership and heroic pose.

So I'll start at 8:00. In the next three days I have to put in this thread at least 5 photo updates every 24 hours. Text'll add a minimum. Also now probably will not respond to any comments to distraction (it'll keep until after completion of the work), so please do not take you as rudeness.

Thanks everyone for the support.

I go for it for little while:) . Cheers Borek

Borek, I am so surprised and honoured, I still can't belive. Many thanks to the jury!:)
This image is just one of a big historical colection, founded mostly on Romanian history, from medieval to modern times.
Actually, it's part of a project to launch a new miniatures brand. Well, not this year yet.
I liked your challenge and I said, "Why not? Let's see what happen!".
The Eterist is an important figure for the Greek history, well, not so popular in Romanian space (Wallachia and Moldavia) at 1821 because of bad fame of the troops of Alexander Ypsilantis, one of its "capitains", troops involved in many violences against local population. They didn't succeed to pass over the Danube and arrive in Greece, being defeated by Turks at Dragasani. The most courageous were the young members of Sacred Band, they stayed and fight outnumbered untill the last man. Some details here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filiki_Eteria
As potential, the personage of above image has indeed a very dynamic stance (one of its advantages, I think), the 3D effect of the sculpture will give it more attractiveness. I'm convinced that you have a difficult mission, but the result will worth a lot.
Good luck!
Nicolae

Thanks for the info:) . Just a note, I'm not take over pose from the picture, I do not want to copy, I have my own vision of his body-pose. Besides, I emphasized at the outset that pose the figure will be fully within my competence. Maybe for you it will not be too big disappointment. I am glad that this piece was published as a commercial piece, and it is good that you wrote it here, I do flexible work, some things I just do it differently than if it were a piece just for you. Thanks again for your participation and hope you will like the result;) . Cheers Borek

Day One

Update No. 1

So I attach first photos. I am one of chaotic sculptor who do not have steady process, working simultaneously on many aspects and parts of the model, and skipping from one to the other as needed or mood, which probably will not change in such a tense time challenge. However, the picture will try to place here so as to best demonstrate the development of my work on this figure. Cheers Borek

GO! GO! GO!!!!

As I said, apart from mine (obviously), Nicolaos' proposal was my favorite!
So, it is a pleasure to 'lose' albeit from someone with so many clothes on!!!!

GO! GO! GO!!!!

Day One

Update No. 2

It was quick, after all it was just a completion of terrain. Already working on a pose figures, it will follow in the next update sometime in the late afternoon.
Borek, a little more documentation (the rifle, possible suggestion):

And, don't worry, I'm sure I will not be dissapointed.
Best regards!
Nicolae

Thanks, same materials on the rifle I found myself;) .
Cheers Borek

The Very Best of Luck and keep at it, my friend :p.
Looking forward to the daily project updates :D.
Cheers!
Kenneth.

The first complication-I had to visit the doctor and I lost more than two hours. Perhaps Murphy's Laws attacking me:D . But it doesn, the fight continues. As the saying goes, dogs were barking, but the caravan goes on. The third update comes a little later, but it will come ... Cheers Borek:)

P. S. Thanks very much to all for your support;).
