First WIP post!

My background is in painting models for historical wargames, but in the last little while I have been more interested in doing display figures. After going to the MMSI Chicago show in October I was hooked, and I got to work!

This is the 95th Rifles Sergeant by Art Girona. It took a bit of work to get together properly - the shoulders were a bit of a mess so I had to resculpt that part. Otherwise, it cleaned up well. I started out airbrushing with Reaper Moss Green, the went in with the brush to do some shadows with black and Dark Prussian Blue. Still along way to go but it's a start...

More soon!

Off to a good start Anthony. Remember this is a very dark black green so don't be shy about shading. I started this one a while back and ended up shelving it because the fit was crap.

keep at it, looking good

Agree on the dark green but the air brushing base is looking great Anthony. Can't wait to see next steps.

Anthony - i found this on line. Hope it helps. From looking at illustrations on line, I see that many riflemen look lighter due to sun glare and dust. I expect that dye would have faded in campaign conditions so don't go too dark.

Colin is getting old, or OCD...3 times the charm, eh buddy?

I suspect the uniform would have faded significantly - Napoleonics aren't my strength, is he Peninsular?

Alright, maybe a little :cautious: We discussed this on the weekend didn't we? didn't we? didn't we?

Definitely, rough on the uniform, sun, dust, mud and cold of Portugal and Spain's plains and mountains. No resupply whatsoever. If memory serves, there are patches sculpted on the knees and elbows of this guy.

Excellent start!
I wouldn't go lighter then that till the shadows are not in place. Before you decide, I think that you need to have in place the actual contrast.
He is already looking dusty so I think that you are on the right track.
Cheers my friend and keep us updated!

If you were really OCD, you would have typed an even number of "OCDs."
