I have made some more progress with this figure. The rifle has now been scratchbuilt and test fitting is taking place.
This is a 1/30 one-off commission piece, sculpted in Bees Putty/Molten Clay mix and Magic Sculpt. 260768615_2043530389146627_8039637505304821059_n.jpg260981717_2043529895813343_9006805597002954466_n.jpg261084148_2043530289146637_3990921401726054558_n.jpgThe-Sharpshooter-on-Picket-Duty.jpg

I like this one. I am a bit of a civil war buff. Too bad it is a commission piece

Very Nice
My very very humble opinion : the torso should be bent forward. the pose will be more dynamic and physically, he anticipates the recoil of the weapon
;)

Hi Rob

Impressive work on the rifle , one great commission to challenge you and no doubt there will be a happy customer

Thanks for sharing the progress

Happy sculpting

Looks interesting and a good start... but the left foot in the painting is nicely braced against the tree and the branch rather than what looks more like a casual resting mode?

The pose looks great, okay slightly different from the image but so what? He's coming along really well Rob, I think this could be popular once he comes up for sale(y)
Cheers

Not a matter of slavishly copying the picture, simply that bracing against the crook of the branch/trunk seems more natural and would provide a more stable platform for sharpshooting.

... not that this takes away from the great quality of the sculpt overall (great work on the rifle in particular) :)

I think this is a one off commission, not for general sale. Shame.
