Hello friends

Well, I was thinking the other day. I've been out of the army now for 24 years and at nearly 57 years old I think I'm safe for being called back up.

So, I thought. What shall I do with my old ammo boots that I've had for over 30 years?

As a bit of a gardening aficionado I thought I would give my boots a second career. So here they are in my back garden.

With the toecaps cut off (I know, I was crying while I did it) and the boots filled with soil they make quite nice garden planters. And I know they are only worth about £20 on eBay so I think its worth the sacrifice.

What do you think?

John

Not a gardener myself but they look good:).
If the boots were only sitting doing nothing, then I think you have made the right choice in giving them a new lease of life.

Cheers Ralph. Yes, they were just sitting in the loft doing nothing. Occasionally on Remembrance Day I would wear them with beret and medals at the National Arboretum but I can wear normal shoes instead.
